Last week, Asus presented to the public it new device – the company’s first multi-touch netbook, the Eee PC T91MT. The device offers a swivel screen that supports Microsoft's Windows 7 Multi-Touch gestures. The netbook weighs about a kilo and it’s with about one inch thicker than the other machines in this class, which make the small computer really comfortable for use.
Asus representative explained that the netbook’s multi-touch functionality makes the interaction between the user and the computer perfectly intuitive and effortless. Moreover, this functionality encourages users to show their own creativity. Moreover, supporting Windows 7 Multi-Touch gestures, the netbook enables the possibility almost every task to be performed with a tap, drag, pinch or flick.
According to the company, the netbook is designed to be always on the road – its portability is improved with a shockproof 32 GB SSD (solid state drive), and an additional online storage space of 500 GB. The device also features Intel's Atom Z520 processor, up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory, optional digital TV, and a 8.9-inch LED-backlit WSVGA screen (1024 x 600). The screen is even equipped with a pressure sensor.
The netbook will soon be available for buying, although Asus did not provide a price point for the basic model.
